In code-compliant construction, it is important to understand the related code requirements in order to avoid mistakes that can lead to serviceability and/or structural problems. This presentation reviews pertinent sections of the 2006, 2009 and 2012 International Residential Code (IRC), the 2012 IRC Commentary, in order to provide better understanding of the requirements for conventionally framed roofs and roof truss construction per IRC Section R802.
