Be Proactive by Using the BCSI-B3 Summary Sheet
The BCSI-B3 Summary Sheet gives Registered Design Professionals and Building Designers the flexibility to easily and affordably incorporate industry guidelines on permanent bracing into their construction documents. Incorporating B3 into plans helps ensure that installers receive this important information and that proper permanent bracing is accomplished.
Providing this critical permanent bracing information is simple – just print your plans on the reverse side of B3 or incorporate the file into your electronic plans!
Using B3 in this manner documents that the Registered Design Professional or Building Designer provided, at the very minimum, standard industry bracing details and language. The document includes numerous graphics with universal red warning labels accompanied by written instructions to provide an easy-to-follow reference.
B3 is available in 11" x 17" and 18" x 24" plan sizes so that the structural framing plan can be printed on the reverse side. B3 is also available in CAD format so that it can be incorporated into electronic plans. See B3 formats and sizes. Learn more about the background and development of the B3 document.
