SUMMARY OF CHANGES FROM UBC 1997 TITLE 24 TO IBC 2006 topTop

This summary of important changes from UBC 1997 Title 24 to IBC 2006 was prepared for the California Chapter meeting in October 2007 to highlight pending changes in the California building code. During this transition period, members are encouraged to ask questions and get agreements before manufacturing components, so that the building designer, building official and component manufacturer would be clear on the code version being used in each project. Good communication will be important for avoiding costly errors in assumptions.

SBC Magazine has also published several articles on the TPI 1-2002 standard that are a good reference:

Also available is a PDF of a presentation outlining these changes and a non-printing PDF copy of ANSI/TPI 1 Chapter 2. The new ANSI/TPI 1-2007 is now available.
