of Engineered Floor, Wall and
Roof Structural Components
On every project, it's important to clarify the design responsibilities when metal plate connected wood trusses are incorporated into a building or structure.
This document contains language from Chapter 2 of ANSI/TPI 1 the National Design Standard for Metal Plate Connected Wood Truss Construction. The requirements are specifically categorized into two distinct areas – when the legal requirements mandate a Registered Design Professional is used and when they do not. A version is also available for cold-formed steel trusses.
This article discusses pre-engineered, prefabricated, metal plate connected wood trusses and how they may be integrated into a structural system to meet the expectations of today’s practicing Architects and Engineers.
