Framing the American Dream
Two identical 2,600 sq. ft. homes were built at the 1996 NAHB Builder's Show – one conventionally framed, the other built with engineered components. Framing the American Dream (FAD) materials detail what we learned about craftsmanship in component manufacturing. The FAD brochure and CD outline the benefits of building with roof trusses, floor trusses and wall panels; the condensed CD focuses strictly on wall panels and is ideal for educating the marketplace. Learn more or order the FAD brochure, CD, and condensed CD.

The Load Guide for Wall Panel Design
The Wall TLG is under development and is intended to help building designers, building code officials, component manufactures, and wall designers understand, define and specify the loads applied to light-frame walls. It will serve as a guide and a calculator to provide the code- and standards-based requirements for determining design loads specifically for walls. Wall TLG will serve as a form through which these parties can communicate during the design process and provide a basis for on-going discussion regarding the application of code and/or standard requirements for loading walls. For more information, contact SBCA staff.

Quality Control Program for Wall Panel Manufacturers
The WTCA QC Wall Panel program helps manufacturers monitor the quality of wall panels they manufacture and provides the plant with a data management system. The program consists of inspecting wall panels and entering the data into the software program, allowing you to store data and create reports to assess plant quality. This program also offers an official WTCA QC Wall Panel 100% voluntary certification. For more information or to participate in this program, contact SBCA staff.
