A minimum fire endurance rating may be mandated by the building code for many of the applications where trusses could be used in floor/ceiling, roof/ceiling or in attic separation applications. This webinar reviews the information provided in the current version of SBCA’s Research Reports SRR No. 1509-01, Fire Resistance Rated Truss Assemblies, and SRR No. 1509-02,Calculation of a 2-Hour Fire Endurance Assembly for Metal Plate Connected Wood Truss Structural Floor and Roof Framing Systems. We will also discuss the use of fire retardant treated lumber in trusses.
The information presented in this course is useful for building officials, component manufacturers, design professionals and framers. The program is AIA approved and continuing education credit (CEU) and professional development hours (PDH) are available. Attendance is free. For participants who need a certificate demonstrating CEU credits, the cost is $25.
