Building Codes

As a national member-driven association, SBCA is intimately involved with local, state, and national building codes to ensure they are written, and implemented favorably, so not to negatively impact SBCA members. SBCA has successfully developed and argued for the adoption of several changes and new codes in the International Building Code.

International Code Council

The International Code Council is a nonprofit association that develops model codes and standards used worldwide to construct safe, sustainable, affordable and resilient structures. These codes have a significant impact on the day-to-day operations of the component manufacturing industry.

SBCA's Director of Codes and Standards, Larry Wainright, regularly monitors and attends ICC hearings to advocate in the best interest of component manufacturers.
