Please join fellow Iowa truss manufacturers for the ITMA Legislative Breakfast in the Legislative Dining Room G-15 at the Iowa State Capitol Building on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, from 7:00-9:00 am. Following breakfast, please join us for the Iowa Chapter Meeting from 10:00-11:00 am at Spaghetti Works. Guest speaker, Sean Shields of SBCA will follow up on the issues discussed at the breakfast and also discuss issues facing component manufactures today.
As the 2016 Iowa Legislative Session got underway, leaders in both the Senate and the House, as well as Governor Branstad, all raised the issue of Iowa’s “skills gap,” and the need for investment in workforce education and training programs. This is a great opportunity to invite your legislators to discuss your company’s ongoing struggles to find qualified people in your design and production departments. As lawmakers consider how to allocate your tax dollars to fund workforce development initiatives, they need to know your industry, and all the construction trades, have a significant need in this area.
